A conservative former archbishop of St. Louis who spread lies about COVID vaccines has COVID and is on a ventilator

Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke who spread conspiracy theories suggesting coronavirus vaccines are linked to microchips and made from aborted fetal cells about COVID-19 vaccines has been hospitalized with the disease and placed on a ventilator, according to his official Twitter account.

The cardinal has expressed skepticism about the need for social distancing measures and spoke out against mandatory vaccinations and is a staunch conservative who has publicly criticized Pope Francis on social issues such as homosexuality and abortion.

Raymond Leo Burke served as archbishop of St. Louis from 2003 to 2008.
