Trump wants to remove Mitch McConnell as GOP leader

Former President Donald Trump is planning to remove Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

Trump recently voiced his approval for ditching mitch and spoke with GOP lawmakers and allies about finding a replacement for mitch as Senate Republicans, according to the Journal.

Trump on mitch: “He’s very bad for the Republican Party.”

mitch rejected Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him and denounced the Jan. 6 riot he incited and disagreed with him on the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill in Congress.

a Trump loyalist in the senate is against this.

“Naw, I’m not going to get in that fight,” Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) told the Journal.

McConnell “is doing a good job,” said the senator, a Trump loyalist.
